Care of Mats Please note that these mats are handmade and therefore not perfect.  Every effort is made to minimize these imperfections. The mats are cork based with hardboard tops which are lacquered with layers of polyurethane. They will withstand moderate heat but not hot dishes straight from the oven. To clean the mats just wipe with a warm soapy cloth and buff dry.
